Reopening of Sunday Worship Guidelines

Pleasant Valley continues to follow CDC and Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines. Fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear a mask while inside the church building. We ask those who are not fully vaccinated to continue to wear a mask.

Also, beginning Sunday, July 4 we will begin having Sunday School again at 10am.

The below guidelines have been established by Pastor Stephen and the Church Deacons based upon CDC and Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines for reopening places of worship.  These guidelines will be in place beginning Sunday, June 7 for our 11am Worship service and will be in effect until further notice.   There will be no Sunday School classes until further notice.    

  • First and foremost, use your own discretion on attending service.  If you identify as high risk for COVID-19 per CDC guidelines we encourage you to stay home.

  • Please park in every other parking spot.

  • The Church building will open at 10:50am.

  • Obey social distancing while on church property.

  • Masks are required to be worn on church property (except for those younger than two years old or those who have difficulty breathing). Masks will be made available to those who do not have one; please bring your own if possible.  Pastor Stephen will remove his mask only to preach the sermon.

  • Hand sanitizer will be at the entrance of the building and required of all to use upon entering.

  • To ensure social distancing, congregants will be seated by an usher.  Please wait to be seated.  Households who attend service will be seated together.

  • Avoid touching surfaces in the Church building as much as possible. Please bring your own Bible (there are also several Bible apps available).  Pew Bibles will not be available.

  • Please stay in the sanctuary.  Restrooms will be available, but we discourage roaming the building.

  • There will be no congregational singing until further notice.

  • When the sermon is finished, the usher will dismiss congregants.  Please do not congregate within the building.

  • Ceiling fans will be running throughout the Worship service. Dress appropriately.
